Founded in 2005, Helen Milby & Company is a strategic political and nonprofit fundraising and management firm based in Washington, DC.

HM&CO is especially proud of growing GlobalWIN—the Global Women’s Innovation Network, from an idea in 2009 into a robust organization that provides a dynamic forum for women executives and thought leaders in academia, government and business who are passionate about innovation and its potential to advance critical policy issues.

With Honorary Co-Chairs Senators Shelley Moore Capito (R-WV) and Maggie Hassan (D-NH) and Congresswomen Cathy McMorris Rodgers (WA-05), Debbie Wasserman Schultz (FL-23), Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), And Young Kim (CA-39), GlobalWIN is a bipartisan nonprofit organization based in Washington, DC and provides an important forum for female leaders to grow personally and professionally, while contributing to key policy debates. GlobalWIN highlights women leaders and connects the public and private sector through our programming that includes networking receptions, policy roundtables, career workshops, and educational trips in the United States and abroad.

Today, GlobalWIN has a solid network of over 1000 women and men in DC and partners all over the U.S. and abroad. Our primary network includes women who work on Capitol Hill, in the Administration, government relations professionals, and women in like-minded organizations.

 

Position Description

HHM&CO is seeking a Program Coordinator committed to women’s leadership and bipartisanship to assist in all functions related to GlobalWIN, a 501(c)3 nonprofit with the goal of connecting women in politics and women in innovation-driven fields. The coordinator will assist the Senior Director of GlobalWIN and Senior Advisor in all facets related to running this organization. This is an exciting position that will give an individual the ability to learn how to run a non-profit organization from every angle. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated self-starter with careful attention to detail and ability to implement programs, lean in with new ideas, and who understands that being on a small team means doing every part of the job. This person should also have a basic familiarity with the political ecosystem in DC. The coordinator will work primarily on functions related to GlobalWIN, but as with any small firm, functions related to other clients will be expected.

 

Responsibilities

  • Programming: Support in the planning and execution of 40+ events per year. Events range from panels on Capitol Hill, private salon dinners, large parties, receptions, retreats, and multi-day domestic and international Hill staff and donor delegation trips, as well as occasional virtual programs. This individual will also assist in drafting all materials related to programming, such as invitations, briefings, and all other necessary items.
  • Administrative: This individual will help the GlobalWIN team as well as the HM&CO team ensure that meetings and messages are scheduled and responded to in a timely manner; they will help to prepare and process contracts, invoices, expense reports, and track program expenditures; this individual will also manage necessary logistics for program participants.
  • Network and Relationship Management: This individual will build and maintain positive relationships within the organization, corporate partners, and external stakeholders. This person will also work on GlobalWIN’s network management, including database management. GlobalWIN is only as strong as its network, so this individual will be responsible for ensuring that our network is well cared for.
  • Digital Content: Assisting on the management of all GlobalWIN’s digital assets, including the maintenance of the GlobalWIN website including its jobs board, and maintaining GlobalWIN’s social media channels.
  • Board Management: This person will support in the management of the GlobalWIN Board of Directors, including helping to prepare for board meetings and retreats.
  • Other programmatic support as needed.

 

Qualifications

GlobalWIN is seeking an enthusiastic applicant who is ready to work hard, punch above their weight, and lean in with ideas. We are also seeking an individual with the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years’ experience in a related field, including valuable internship experience.
  • Superb written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as a team.
  • Hill experience or internship preferred.
  • Experience in event planning.
  • Enthusiasm for social media.
  • Commitment to women’s empowerment and bipartisanship.
  • Familiarity with NGP, Microsoft Outlook, Bgov, and WordPress are a plus.

The Program Coordinator for GlobalWIN position is a full-time, exempt position based in the Washington, DC area. Domestic and international travel up to 10% may be required for the position.

HM&CO currently allows all employees to work from home as desired and if your schedule allows. If your job or manager requires it, we do ask employees to go to the office and to in-person meetings as needed. Work from home expectations will likely change in 2022. All current HM&CO employees are vaccinated.
